I mean...Damn MINI.
57 grand for something with 228 hp might be a record: least for the most.
I realize you can start at $ 38, 400 but thats still very nice hot hatch money. And also...what business do you have MINI nearly doubling the price of your vehicle with options? The countryman starts at 27 btw.

Nope. I can’t imagine myself ever spending more than six or eight grand TOPS on a set of wheels. I paid $13k once for a two-year-old Dodge Caravan, which depreciated madly, but that’s an outlier.

The priciest car I ever bought was the Sportwagen TDI we bought new. something like 23 grand after rebates. The good news is that after 5 years of ownership we got over 21 grand back for it in compensation so it only really cost 2 grand. Which was nice.

Ma n that’s like...three well optioned, V6 mustangs.
We still use V6 mustangs as a form of measurement, right?

Maintenance should be similar as well, given what I’ve heard about MINI ownership.

I would get two VW GTI’s for that money.

I don't think we ever settled on a replacement benchmark price, so, I guess?

Most I could ever see spending is like $25K USD

A $10000 Range Rover Vogue, after initial investment you have something comfortable to explore with and maintenance will be about the same...

Kia Stinger 2.0 and a Miata ND.

A used C63 AMG with a warranty, a 4th-gen 4Runner, and some change . That’s 777 total horsies and a similar number of [torque units].

OPPO GROUP BUY!!!
but instead of buying that thing we get 110 $500 beaters and start our own racing league

If I had $57k... I’d probably buy some bicycles and keep the $50k.

There is soooo many cars I’d rather have at that price point than a “mini” countryman;
Mustang
GT86
370z
Supra
Camaro
Corvette
Do you need me to carry on?

For $57K I might be able to get a Westfalia. It’ll probably be the same reliability-wise, amirite?

A Golf R: 44 grand
The other 11 could buy a reeeally nice RWD E90.

And now you could buy it again for 15!

That is more than I paid for my Ferrari...
Maintenance
is probably a bit higher, though.

I’ll never understand the number designations on Austins
![]() 02/22/2019 at 18:06 |

Well the 100 series started off with a 4 cylinder . Then they got a straight 6 so 100-6. Then the 3000 got a 3.0l I6.
BN4 is chassis designation for 4 seater 100
BN6 is chassis designation for 2 seater 100

That’s the beauty, this one is warratied for another few years still. Unrelated, but could I get authorship on this account please? There’s a couple of things I want to post and it’s sort of annoying not being able to. I don’t have access to the old account anymore and it’d be nice to be able to post again. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this sort of thing.

I could see spending that much if I came into a bunch of money, but I’d still think it was mighty extrava
gant. Maybe a decent Cadillac CTS-V could be had for that kind of money. But highly unlikely in my lifetime.
